Low On

Sometimes if we want to say something we don't have much of we can use the term "Low On". We have an adjective linked to a noun with a proposition. Usually it can be in or on, but, in this case it's "on".

Why not use "Less"? Ok sure let's try. "We are less on bread". Doesn't sound right. You could say "We have less bread". But then with this I'd expect to see a comparison with "Than". Like "We have less bread than yesterday".

Let's try a few sentences with Low On

"We're low on vodka"
"We're low on gas"

Let's use the opposite "high"

"We're high on gas"

Please never use this.

Here's an interesting but has nothing to do with this article. "Give me the low down".

Will save that one for next time.
