I have a beef with you

In America, you will hear someone say I have a beef or bone to pick with you. Today I bring up why is it exactly a bone or a beef? Why is isn't it, "I have a pig to pick with you?" That sounds a little funny.

Saying I have a bone to pick with your or I have a beef with you is exactly the same meaning. It means you have a problem with someone and that's it. How you want to use it is up to you in your context. Use your imagination. If you don't have one, I suggest you get one.
