Belly Up

When a company doesn't do as expected, as in, has to close, we can say the company went belly up.

Belly means stomach, but why they use this I don't know.

Usually when a company files for bankruptcy we can say this: "ACME INC. Today went belly up after a having a long hard battle of renting DVD's to consumers since everyone uses streaming media nowadays."
