Top Notch

Top Notch is used to describe something that is very good, almost best of the best. Quite possibly for the price or quality of construction. Let's give an example

"The Dell Latitude 14 7000 (7480) is a top-notch business laptop when configured with top-of-the-line components...."

Notice we use "A", when referring to top-notch. This is because there could be a lot of top notch laptops. We're talking about this one currently. If we used "The Top-Notch", it would significant something of it's importance value too strongly.
